Dr Pranab Mahapatra is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Besides being a clinically active physician, he teaches at the medical school (undergraduate and postgraduate levels) and is an adjunct faculty at the school of dentistry and nursing. He is involved as a PI and Co-PI in research projects, having a specific focus on multiple chronic conditions and their interface with mental health and their impact on patients. He is particularly interested in finding the different care seeking pathways for non-communicable diseases and health promotion in clinical settings.
In 2022 he was appointed as the visiting Lown Scholar of the Harvard School of Public Health.
